Sweet Pre-Spring Break Week! 9th-15th Feb 09

What a week! I love these little gem weeks when you do just about everything imaginable in a short time span!

Tuesday we played against Michigan State. Now this was a dissapoinment. We had all been working so hard for this game. Well, for the most part that is. And hten State came in and was playing on the top of their game. Both teams were struggling scoring, but they were just mearcyless on the defensive end. They are so big and play so quickly that they completely shut out our offense. You can see that my the fact that we only had 15 in the first half! And Manny had his second bucket of the game wit a few inutes left in the game! They really shut manny out, but also our wings. They played a 2-3 defense, and since they were so big and quick they could cover the open 3 in a heart beat. So we ahd no open 3s, all contested, leaving us with a 4-24 3-point shooting. The only force we had, surprising ly enough for his small size, was Peedi, Deshawn Sims. He was the only one making consistent baskets, and it was impressive to have him shoot at such a high percentage. All in all, it was very dissapointing, and so much drama happened on the bench with cups spilling, running out of towels and players throwing up and bleeding; it was a mess. I yelled so hard and got intot he game so much that by the end of the game, and when I finally had to accept defeate, I was dead, truely worn out completely, as if I had played in the game. We will have to win on Sunda against Northwestern.

There I am on the bench

Weds I jsut studied all day. I had a stats exam for thursday and I had to be ready for it. Well, Thurday ame about and I didnt have nearly as much time that day as expected to study, which was a big annoyance as I had to cram in a lot of material and 2 practice exams in 2 short hours. Then I ran over to the undergraduate science building to take my exam. Now I was getting the concepts down, but I still had a difficult time distinguishing between what formulas to use, because we have like 4 different formulas to find th sample mean of a population proportion, so to know which one to use in a given question was difficult. I have no idea what I got, but we will see.

Right after the exam I literally ran over tto the dorm to meet up with my room mates to go to the Red Wings Hockey Game! I didnt really get to eat. I just went inot the caferteria to make a big turkey sandwitch and walked right back out. Ben got 4 slices of pizza and walked out. We all waddled over to David´s dads car and took off. We had 6 strong: me, david, ben, mark, alex, and todd (a dude that will live in the quad next year). I had tons of energy in the car and alex and mark took turns playing the beer pong application game on my iPhone. We drove to Detroit and thats when I saw a border patrol SUV and I was dazzeled to see one from all the way from Texas up in Detroit. That was until I was educated that they have a border patrol for Canada as well and that there was Canada across the Detroit River...wow, I had no idea.

The game was pretty fun. It is much better watching it live. I had a bunch of fun yelling the whole game. I was still horse from the MSU game so I am pretty sure my voice is getting wore every day progressibvly. My bad. But it was tons and tons of fun. We all placed bets who would make the first score and I picked #26 because that was my football number in high school. It was some ceck republic dude but low and behold he scored first! So I got a free pretzel from my firneds which I shared to everyone. The Wings ended up wining 4-2. Yeah, Go Wings!

Friday was a whole different ball game. And it was freakin sweet. Mark Pressprich, my good friend Mark, haha, well he told me as we were driving up Thursday that since I actually had nothing going on Friday night, that I ahd to go dancing with him, salsa dancing that is, the best type of dancing around. Well, I havent been salsa dancing in a while, alothough I love it, so I said sure, I would go. And wow, what a night! Originally it was going to me me, mark, Rina, and Bethie, but then their friend Adam from high school came and then Ashely showed up later at the Heidlerberg. And what a night! I was going all out with my moves. I danced with some of the loacals early on and then when it got dense and sweety around I sticked with out 3 girls and just had one of the most liberating fun on the dance floor I have every had. It was great to dance with them 3 and me and Mark had an asolute blast. We danced till like 2 and then we went outside to discover it was snowing again! It had just all melted away a few days ago, but now we had this thin layer of soft white snow.

We were kinda hungry and didnt want the night to end,s o we all drive over to Pizza House. Haha, we had so much fun as we talked about basketball (that was my fault, but hey, it was NBA AllStar weekend), school, nutrition, and NFP (Haha, I am not kidding). We kept having fun and being goofy and trying eachother´s deserts and wow, another great night was in development. Me and Mark were just going all out and yeah, awesome. I love going to bed at 4.

Which, speaking of which, we had to get up bright and early on saterday for the Valentine´s Girls Breakfast! So I hardl slept at all, my voice was gone, I was beggining to feel a little sick, and my knee was gone, and with little sleep I troddled over with Ben to Campus Chaple. I set up some of the food and coffe and I was in charge of entertaining the laddies as they got some pancakes and tried to pour the coffee. And then I joined Ben and Will to sing some songs to the ladies and it was awesome, hahaaha. And poor Mark slept in. We all knew he would. After that I got Alex tot drop me off at Crisler Arena for some practice. And after practice, inspired by the NBA Slam Dunk Contest that was going down tongith, all the players gave a few tries themselves at Dunking the ball, which led to us managers attempting to do as well. Haha, epic failier. After that I lifted even though I was feeling a bit tired.

I got back to the dorm like at 4pm. I took a shower and got some reading done and then Bethie came by to pick me up. We drove over to Borders in Ipsi where Rina works and did some of my History489 reading there...well, for a little, till I got distracted and wondered around the building, looked at sport car magazines (Top Gear, yeah!), tasted some hazlenut coffe and talked to Rina and Bethie. And then Mark joined us all of assudent, ready fot eh night. That night was the 80´s Valentine´s dance at St Mary, the one I made the poster for that was all over campus. He showed up with his look and was ready to go. We were laughing at this book called "How to get girls" that was written by a 9 year old! Hahaha. Check out an exlusive border´s interview here.

We drove back to the PentaDude and chilled ther trying to watch the NBA 3-point shooting contest and Slam Dunk contest, But it was taking forever tog et there and they had all their NBA Cares propoganda and it was really annoying so we just goofed off as I tried to get a costume up for the 80´s theme. I ended up wearing my one pair of jeans, stealing Bethie´s shirt (I kid you not), my gradnfather`s orange shirt and my saxophone tie around my head. It was epic. Haha, and together me and Mark went to conquer the land of the 80s. Ashely was there and so was my catechism partner Danny, and me and MArk were goffing off the whole night. The cool thing is that since none of us were there in the 80s, we can pull off whatever rediculous dance we want and get away with it, haha. And that is exsactly what we and mark did. But alas, because of the fatige, little sleep, working out, malnutrition (I forgot to eat lunch or dinner, haha, I know), no voice, little sickness, and the fact that we were up and slasing all night last night, we left early, haha, but not by much. I just wanted to sit down. So me and Mark, AKA Los Charros Borachos (thats right, and dont you forget!) went back tot he PentaDude and then killed some Nazi Sombes on Call of Duty IV World at War on the PS3. We ended up staying late anyways. But hey, it was fun.
Sunday....sunday sunday. It was one of those days that I got up and had hours blocked off for work, but since I finally had some time to myself, the first in weeks, and since I actually got to pull out my bible and devotional and spend some quality time with God, well, lets just say I lost about 3 hours doing that, haha, woops. Not really a bad thing, but I did loose a lot of time. And then I had to get ready for my afternoon living at St Marys. So I packed up my belongings and get my lesson plan ready and went for the large afternnoon. I had cathecism class with Danny and the kids, but the annoying this was that the Northwestern game was on and I couldnt watch it! We had to beat these guys! So I followed the entire game on my iPhone, but the game took foever! It went into my NCSA meeting, and since the game was close the entire game, it just kept getting longer and longer. The last 2 minutes felt like every rebound they would call a time out,a dn then there was a foul, and then we were up by 5, and then, woops, lets make them tied. And then alas, overtime. Overtime! Ahhh! I cant even watch the game! I am watching it closely on my phone and not even paying attention tot he meeting. I just kept nodding my head and tried to keep the facial exressions to a minimum. It was a constant struggle between hypervenelating and acting as chill as possible. And then we finally won and I just felt so relieved, like haha I was feeling relaxed. We won, and thats all that mattered. I played saxophone at mass with my hourse voice and then went back to the PentaDude where one more epic adventure awaited me.

Well, here is the deal. On Friday David turned 23, yes, I know, it is very old, but I non-the-less speak the truth. So the girls (rina and bethie) were going to make their epic cake for him, but the old man desided he was too old for school and took off Friday afternoon to go home. So we had to call that off. But the girls would not give up, no they wouldnt. So they reschedualed for Sunady night at 10ish. They showed up with this insane red flannel shirt cake, haha, and they brought Ashely along with them. But then we couldnt figure out when he would come back. And so we messed around with duck tape and fighting off the girls with their weird ways and watching the slam dunk highlights. And then Alex and Ben came back,s aying that they had men´s group and that David was talking and would probobly take forever. So in anticipation, and in our preparedness (is that a word?) he finally came and we busted out the cake and the knife and the fun and wow, it was so glorious. I even had an old man poem written for him with the aid of my new rhyming dictionary and that was pretty cool as well. All in all, it was great to have the trio girls over att he PentaDude and messing around with cake and duck tape, I mean, you cant go wrong with that. Haha. And then when they left us dudes could not end the night and so the Nazi Sombe slaing ensued and then I finally put all my stuff online and it was one amazing week. Wow. Haha. Cheers -DP

My dad And Bro in Michigan!!!

This past week, the first week of October, has been super busy. And instead of doing homework right now I wish to retell what a fantastic week this has been.

I guess I can start on Monday. Funny thing when I got to practice on Monday morning, Beilien asked me to program his new digital addidas watch because he had no idea how to read the tiny instruction booklet. No problem I said. It took me a while to get everything properly, but that nice watch of his has the time and date, plus a quick button to the chronograph, and also 5 timer setting for 10 seconds, 20 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, and 5 minutes. I showed him how to swap through times and settings. It was pretty tight showing Coach Beilien personally.

Thursday was UCOffee. Now, its kinda a combination of a talent show/get together. We have people come to chat and drink coffee and goodies and get to meet new people while we have some entertainment in the background. Well, John asked me to be EmCee. Of course I took the job not realizing how much work I had to do this week. I ended up being able to quickly script the show once I got all the acts together Weds night. I had to go get pictures for the basketball team right before that, but I ended up having plenty of time to get from Crystler Arena to Campus Chapel and set up. It was a hit. We had a lot of performances from wanaa be magic acts to performances by the “Illegal Immigrants” to John´s awesome video to Ben´s Wake me up when My midterms end, to my magic trick (of course) to tons of fun in between. I even had some good joke to pull off. It was awesome. I had a blast leading the event and I am sure everyone who went had a grand time.

On Friday, I also had a busy day. I had no practice in the morning, quite the break, so I could stay and have prayer meeting with some dormtroopers (us fellow UCO people in the dorms). I went to my dumb econ discussion class, only to realize I knew way less than I anticipated. Now I am really scared of my econ midterm on Tuesday. Later on I went to the gym, only to notice on my way back that I had an hour less than I thought I had. I quickly took a shower, changed into dress clothes and ran over to see Joe Dumars, hall of famer, NBA 2 time champion, and president of Basketball Operations for the Detroit Pistons, come do a talk on leadership and the Michigan League. It was really good. This guy is amazing, probably the most respectable Gm in the NBA today. He stressed character and integrity and working and surrounding yourself with good people whom you can trust to get the job done correctly. After the speech he let the floor up for questions. Right when it was my skill and character for him choosing pro athletes, Q&A was over. What a bummer. But I ran into this awesome dude who was sitting right next to me the entire time. His name was Roberto, really cool for a classy black guy. He was in the Ross School of Business here at UofM. He wanted to get into the sports world so I shared with him all the things I knew of it and he was impressed by how much I knew and have been doing. He was a really really nice guy and hope to see him soon.

At this point I was starving because I rushed over from workout and hadn’t had lunch. I walked over to East quad at 3pm to grab lunch before check in started at 3:15 at perpoint commons for the Kenisiology Networking session. Right when I am finishing eating, Will, the head manager, callls me. “Yo, DP, can you meet one of the coaches a the Student´s Activities Building?” That is next to the Union. I told him my time crunch and he said I was the first one he called. I said sure, believing everyone else to be busy and well. So the next thing you know, people see this dude running down the street with a nice blue long sleeve button up shirt with kaki slacks and Mexican style brown shoes running down at quite a good pace with a black bag in hand. The afternoon is beautiful and it is a restful Friday, besides this dude running way out of place. I got there only to find coach Jackson and Matt to call the meeting off because of practice time infringement. So I then ran over to peirpoint commons at 3:35 out of breath, sweaty, and having to fix up my dress clothes. After that I went in and talked to some people.

One person used to work as an assistant coach for the Detroit Lions and is now a Lawyer for the NFL. Another worked for the Detroit Pistons/Palace of Entertainment until he moved over to work with 3 different leagues. This last guy I talked to was amazingly nice, and quite a resume as well. He went to the NBA Management training program and after that worked in creating the WNBA in 1997. After doing that for 3 years he went over and joined this first year Athlete Relation program which does player contracts and personnel for new athletes coming out of college. He is currently doing Wolverine Alums Amani Toomer, Chad Henne, Adam Kraus, and Adrian Arrington. Nuts! He was super nice. The things I learning from this network are: The NFL has really really good internship programs for students (so maybe an offer with the Dallas Cowboys wouldn’t be such a bad idea), that it is easier to go from Team Operations to Business part of the franchise than from the Business to Team Opps, and that if I keep with the basketball team, that is the best way to get into team opps in the future. I also was told to keep smaller leagues in perspective because they are easier to move up in. Anyhow, at that moment I got a call from my dad, telling me that him and my brother were at the Law Library waiting for me…

I rushed over and met up with them at south quad. I quickly brought Christopher up to my room, changed into my basketball gear, and we drove to Crystler Arena. We got there right when the team was finishing up a scrimmage. Then we had voluntary shooting. After a short meeting with the managers about the following day and the 2 tailgates we had to man I went with my brother and dad to Cottage Inn to eat some good pizza and show Skunk the good life. We got a lot of good talking and good catching up, so that was really special. It was so cool to have Christopher here in the land of Maize and Blue. That was the first thing he commented on: the huge difference of not seeing a single maroon or burnt orange any where but filled with the blue and maize. Haha, so true. This is not Texas anymore.

After that, it was already dark and getting cold. I took them to Steve and Barry´s so that Christopher could get a new Michigan Football Shirt. Then we went to St Mary so that my dad could meet a few people at the pancake night that had just started. There weren’t many people but he got to meet Father Tom and Devon. After that he took off. He did bring me my old books and notes from my philosophy class in high school. So I read over the Crito again and took some notes for my paper. After that me and Skunk went to get some bubble tea and then went to North Campus for some reason to see some friends. Some of my friends were in and other were out. I was amazed by how many of the nerds lived in the identical rooms from the year before. Hahaha. Then I saw Eugene, my good buddy from t he end of the year last year. He is working a ridiculously a lot right now. Christopher thought he was a cool guy. Then we meet up with Will and Ashley and we went on the bus together down to Central to go to pancakes. At this point it was already midnight. I got to introduce my bro to them and they instantly welcomed him. We talked a lot about UCOffee and they were both disappointed they had to miss my magic trick (haha).

We got to St Mary and we played this ridiculous funny game in which you had funny things you had to do and curses to uphold as well. If you didn’t hold the curses, you lost the curse, and after 3 down, you lost the game. My first one was yelling like a sergeant with everything I said. I did a really good job for a while. Then I lost it when a friend of mine came in and I was talking to her. I cant believe they called me on it. Devon was doing alright, but not that good. He had all these things he had to do if people made noises. Will was doing terrible and wouldn’t last a full round before he lost his curse. Ashley did pretty well. She had to swat flies every time she talked and did a good job on that, and after she lost that she had to say “not funny” every time she laughed, which was every few seconds. I ended up getting a combined 3 voice curses. I had to talk in a high pitched voice, had to hick up while I spoke, and had to make an echo with my last words. It was nuts. We had a blast and Christopher had a good time too. After some dancing around, skunk was tired so we retired for the night like at 2:15 am.

The next morning I got up and did some work. Me and skunk went to Crystler at noon. I didn’t have to work at the alumni tailgate till 2pm. So pretty much I had to stand there and man the recruit tailgate for 2 hours along with 14 other guys. It was really cold, and I was freezing in my polo and pants. Even though Christopher had a sweathsirt, he is fresh from Texas, so I got him permission to sit inside crystler with my iphone to stay warm. My dad later came to pick him up while I did the Alumni tailgate and he brought my brother with him to the Law School Alumni Tailgate. My dad said he ran into people he hadn’t seen in 20+ years. They got my 2 tickets validated and they entered the park. I was still at the Alumni tailgate. The food catered there was soo so good. They had these bacon macaroni and cheese that was the best I have ever had and these barbeque ribs which were superb. I got in the stadium with 15 minutes before kickoff at 3:15. But that was an adventure in itself. I gave my dad both my tickets. I didn’t have any tickets. But since the last 3 games I hadn’t even got my ticket scanned or even looked at, I figured I would be fine. Well, at the Alumni tailgate, they were asking for tickets. I was like, this is not a good idea. So I grabbed to orange juices and a water (no, a diversion was not my plan), and walked out of the tailgate and around to the empty recruit tailgate tent. I walked in crstlyer with the approval of the usher who knows my face. I walked around and got into the stadium. Step 1 done. Now I had to do the equally hard part of getting into my section without the ticket. Like I said before, every time thus far, I didn’t even have to show it because I suppose my shirt stated that I was with the team. But this time they asked for it!....I fumbled around in my pockets and pulled out my Miami (ohio) ticket, a 3 week old ticket, an with my smooth misdirection and subtle display of the ticket, he let me right on through! Score! I rushed down so happy but wanting to get there before the opening kick off and to join my friends and family. They were all happy I made it sound and the game started.

I am not going to say much about the game because we did really bad against the Fighting Illini, but I did have a good time and know it was quite the experience for my dad and brother to be on row four of the student section with the band next to us and 250 people short of 110,000 in the stadium shouting at the top of their lungs. We had an ugly 45-20 loss, but it was still fun. I am sure Christopher will never forget that experience.
After the game we rushed over to South Quad. The game took 4 hours and it was 7:30 by the time we got back. We ate a light snack and walked over with the guys to Martha Cook to have a Lords day with the girls. It turned out to be a good Lords Day, and it went from good to fantastic once my dad spoke. He talked about future goals and listening for God´s plan day by day. He made a great encouragement to us students and told many applicable stories of when he was going through school. He even talked about one of his clients he just finished up with in Ypsilanti which was a great example of how we can minister to people while on the job. It was really good and I know everyone appreciated my dad talking. He is just like me, or should I say, I am just like him. Once he gets started, he just takes off talking about this and that, this story and another, and tying it all together and what not. It was great and he even talked to a few privately after his talk. I am really glad he got to take this opportunity while he was here and only wish more people in UCO and St Mary could take this opportunity.

Afterwards we walked on the calm chilly night to State Street to go to a salad shop for some late food. Us 3 got to talk a good while. I really enjoyed having their company that night. I took them back to the dorm and showed them some videos of UCOffee and some projects that I have gotten done since I left from Texas. Its kinda funny, because I have only been gone like 5 weeks from Texas. But it feels like I just saw them the other day. So much has happened since I got here that I didn’t feel the time pass away. But it felt so out of place to have Christopher here in Ann Arbor. But it was so goood. I am glad he came. We crashed for the night once the other guys got here.

My dad was supposed to come at 8:30ish on Sunday morning to eat some stuff and take off with Christopher for the airport. But my dad didn’t show up and his phone was off. I got some philosophy work done for my paper, and about 9am my dad shows up with some starbucks coffee and pastries. His phone charger didn’t work last night and ran out of battery. It was great to have him here. He was dressed in his “casual attorney attire” and we talked some and drank some coffee. This morning was the best because we had some energy and had a peaceful morning with the rest of the dudes asleep. This morning was probably the best time I got to spend with them because of the peacefulness and the energy we had. I really really enjoyed having them come this morning. We took one final picture and then I helped them go to the car in front of South Quad. It felt so good to have them. I hugged and waved goodbye and came up to my room. I hadn’t had time to miss them at all since I have been here or since they got here. But for those few minutes after they left I really got the feeling of missing them. Especially my dad. He is so awesome. I love my dad so much. I wish he could see all the things I am doing here and that he could get to know more of my friends and influence them like he has me. Wow, I had a great time.

Well, I just decided to waste an hour + of my Sunday morning to write all this to you. I have a busy schedule now. I have a paper to write for tomorrow and I have to go to a econ102 review session from 12-2 in an a little bit to go over my midterm that is coming up. And soon I have my sport management midterm too. So wish me luck.
Thanks Dad for coming up to Michigan and bringing my awesome brother. I had a fantastic time. God bless –Daniel Fransisco

School starts

Well, people, I have been busy as heck. Unforturnately I havent been able to keep you posted of my world. But I am here at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and ever since school started the 2nd of September, my life has been going full speed. How? I will breifly touch in a few spots.

First of all, my room. The Penta-Dude, standing for the 5 guys that live in the quad here on 8th Hubert in South Quad. This was the first thing to be introduced in my second life. Awesome guys, David, Brad, Ben, and Mark are. Pete, my room mate from last year, and his roomate, the freshman Joey, live just a few doors down on our hall. So far we have had everythin in our room, from morning prayer, to football gamedays, to halo3 parties, to Lord´s day celebrations, to movie night (fearturin Hurcules, Borne Ultimatum, and of course, The Office), so mini workout seccions, to push-up and pull-up contest, to eating get togethers, to study seccions, to even...sleeping. Yes, we do sleep in here too, incase you all though we only had fun in our room 24/7.

Second of all, Basketball. Belein and the other coaches can only hav e a grand total of 3 hours with all the players a week till October. So they usually break up into 3 groups and have 3 one our seccions throughout the week. Besides that they still have conditioning, lifting, open gym, open shooting, and agility workouts. So its not so light for the players and us managers, but it is definately not going to get any lighter. We have had these basketball tailate parties for the home games so far for the recruites too. Last week against Maiam of Ohio, us managers actualy (yes, pop, actually) got to eat. We ended up winning an ugly victory, but at least we won. I have no idea what the future of our football team for this season is. Our quaterbacks are weak and we have virtually no offensive line, and because of that, our small, inexperienced running backs suffer, and our lousy quarterbacks dont have enough time to make descent passes to open running backs which makes our punter and defence be on the feild way more than they should. Anyhow, now that I get this off my checst, we will see what happeneds against Notre Dame on the 13th.

School...yes, school. I did come here for school. Thats too bad, because after all the fun at the welcome week and after meeting people from all over, you get reminded that the whole reason you came to Michigan in the first place is because of school. And this school...is hard, hard as climbing a steap cliff ful of broaken class bottles with your hands tied and blindfolded, only to fall off the cliff because only 1/4 of the climbers are gaurenteed to make it, just like only 1/4 of the students who take econ are gaurenteed to make an A, only to watch the rest either bleed to death in thier frutless yet vain effort or faint in disbeleif of the hardship and just tumble down the cliff into obivion. Yes, that is the situation we have here at Michigan, where every one of our programs is in the top 10 percent. Yeah, enough said.

Church. I have been busy with many of what Nacho would call, "churrchy aporrrtunitees." I have done a lot for both University Christian Outreach and St Marys Student Parish combined. I have invited people from from UCO to St Marys and St Marys people to UCO, and people to both of them all over. I have also attended a modern non-denominational church one sunday with two new great friends that also are Will from Atlanta and Ashley from North Carolina, who are now both in the UCO/St Marys loop with me. Wahahaha. Anyhow, I have meet so many people from everywhere, including...

The Table Tennis Club. Thats right, I am appart of the table tenis club, and I will tell you what, they will rock your socks. Like literally. You will be so up in arms in their goodness, you will just want to take off your socks and throw it at them to stop them from spinning the ball everytime. I mean, you do want to actually touch the ball when you swing it, instead of completely missing and looking like a fool on crack every time you play! Baaa. But those guys are aweome. Probobly one of the nices sets of athletes, and quite humble for that matter, are table tennis players. I brought my racket and my confidence from winning that IM TACUCC tournament but it was useless. Haha. these guys are good. And they are from all over. Bobby, Andy, David, Wimpao, Tai, Wang, Clemons, Mike, and a few other dudes with names I cannot pronounce were there. I had one grand of a time, and I will hopefully be able to hit 1 or 2 of there 3 times a week meetings. Awesomeness.

I also started to read a book called Beyond Glory. It is the epic story of Joe Luis and Max Schmeling´s boxing battle of the world in 1938 when all Nazi Germany and all the about to be conquered world watched as the 2 went head to head for one of the most important sports contest ever. It is ranked in the top 5 sport contests of all time. Wow. Yeah, so I am attempting to read it, slowly, but surely. And I hope to be finished with it some time in March. If I finish before that would be a bonus, but I have to keep my goals realistic here, haha.

Well, for right now, that is all that is occupying my time. I could go into how hard the romance language department is too get a spanish class moved from one time to another, but I will save you guys from that pain that I had to suffer physically and that you in no way want to experience by reading about it. I am currently taking a spanish class, an econ class, two philosophy classes, and a sport management class. Yes, very varied, but that kinda helps too. Unfortunately I have 3 classes on friday which blows compared to my 0 classes on friday last year. But its all good, just keep me more busy!

People, stay in touch, leave comments. Please pray fro a successful year in the class room and on the basketball court for my men. Also, keep prayers for the Overton case which is going through some considerations for another trial, and for the Hurracane Ike which is supposed to hit South Texas. My family lives in Corpus Christi on the Gulf of Mexico and my cousins and grandparents live in Houston. So we will see what happeneds. Anyhow, leave me a message and cheers! -DP
