Reactions to the Decision
In case yall missed the biggest moment in history, here you can replay the hour drama in about 3 minutes:
Now there have been a lot of reactions, from pumping fists and cheering to burning jerseys and giving impossible guarentees. But what is important is that this inspired for Steve Carell to give his decision...and here I have it for you in all its glory...
and what did the real King have to say about all this? Its pretty funny, really, kinda like a slap in the face. Hes like, "I dont now what kids do now, but back in the day when I played, we liked to compete. Not like this BS staked teams of today. What the corn." Exactly what he said. Listen for yourself...

The most important decision in the history of the world
Really. Why is Lebron making this such a big deal? Making an ESPN hour long special just to say where your next mansion will be is rediculous. Stop being a drama queen and pick where you are going already. Lebron made a twitter account just to add fuel to the fire. He is hype king. Thats what he is. And where will he go?1. Miami
2.Cleveland
3. New York
4. Lakers
5. Piss-tons
1. Dwane Wade and Bosh just committed to southern beach. That team is automatically stacked. So if you asked LeBron, ok, so your number 1 criteria is to win championships, where can you automatically win? Miami. Its like over. Just like Boston won. Its said and done. I personally would take Miami any day ovefr Cleveland. Cleveland is dirty and old and smelly and its in Ohio which just sucks period.2. Cleveland. Alright you already know my feelings about this place. But, how would he feel in the end of the day working so hard to make Cleveland a NBA champion calaber team all those years to just dump his home town and endless fans to win some hardwood or make some more dough? Who knows. He likes home. He wants to be at home. But he wants to win.
3. NY gives him the largest consumer market and the most money and the most opportunity to make a big time brand. And now that they signed Boozer, they have a shot if he came.
4. Lakers. I made that one up. Kobe is king there and will always be king there
5. I have no idea who the piss-tons are but they are not related to the team in Auburn Hills.
6. Bulls. Chicago. Jordan's domain. And thats why I dont want him to go there. Jordan will always have the hearts of Chicago. No reason fort he King to go in and try to take it for himself. Sure he would have a good shot to win, but lets be honest, Lebron will be known for being with the Cavs half his life and then being with the team that gave him titles. He is a big enough name that he will steal that town forever. And that town aint big enough for the two of them. Thats why this is at the bottom.I hate to have to see this, but as I wanna know where he goes...Im gonna have to bite the bullet and watch this peice of drama unfold. Tonight at 9pm Eastner on ESPN. Like I said,....what the corn

Kobe
Last time I spoke on Focus and Kobe Bryant. This time we will look at his coaching abilities. TIME's Sean Gregory meets up with Kobe to get a few pointers. A few things to look for:
1. Kobe has a really high shot. The ball is well above his head. This allows him to A) have great leverage as shown on his jump shots and B) keep the ball away from the defender
2. The reason Kobe is so good on the floor is that he goes at the same calmness that he does in his practice. He is smooth demonstrating his shot and free throws and he keeps his cool and his form as he does it high speed in the game. Consistency wins games
3. Watching him talk about his focus in #6 Get In Character at 5:38
4. That white guy must be tall. He stand right at Kobe and Kobe is 6'6".
5. Will Kobe be the next Coach Isaah Thomas?

Focus: On a Mission
The Finals are here. This is where champions are victorius and the almost champions go home. Alright. Nothing new there. Sorry to dissapoint. But how are champions determined? How to they come to be? Its all about focus.
Now lets talk about differnt types of focus. You can focus on an immediate goal, such as driving home, or a bigger picture, like graduating and maybe getting a job one day. They could be specific goals such as downing the drink before your buddie does, or an every day goal, like making enough dough to pay Obama's taxes and still having a few cents for an orange Fanta from Mexico. We might as well state what focus is NOT.
Its not sitting on the beach with your suit on doing some yoga crap. First off, the suit is partly ruined by the sand that gets everywhere, second, you look like a complete moron. Please kee p such behaviors in the privacy of your own home. And third off, you deserve to get hit by the spalishing water from some kid. I hope a seagull poops on that men's warehouse jacket of yours too. Think instead...think instead of a fat kid, who is really hungry, like really hungry.
He just just eat, he doesnt just consume food, no, he destroyes it. He obliterates it from this universe and somehow it ends up in his stomach, adding to his thinkness. That is focus, ladies and gentlement, the only type of focus that is found between a fat boy and his cake. Dont get in between, becasue you may never come out alaive. I mean, just look at those eyes. Never have you seen some more fearful
We in America like to have role modles, for those who inspire, Kennedy, for those who fly, Superman, for those who kill and sleep with women, Bond, and for those who create "change," Obama. We need a role modle, someone that every little kid can be like, wow, I wan tto focus, I want to be the nexdt Focus Master, who would they look up too? Well, our search has been answered, b/c on national TV we foudn the perfect Mr Focus. He happens to be a Baskebtall superstar as well. No wonder. Here he is ladies and gents
I dont even hear you. I am on a mission.

From Boys to Men: Get a Life
so watfch these highlights:
........................
..........................

Soon at the end of the first half, his second tech resulting in automatic ejection. It gets worse. In the second half, Big Baby Davis gets slammed by superman's elbowes which was an instant KO. After a few breaths the man attempts to get up but found himself once agasin on the hardwood floore. He attempts yet again but finds himself in the Reff's arms. Out with a concussion.

........................
..........................
Ladies and gentlemen, we are in a world full of babies. People expect things to get done for them. They complain when things get hard. They feel like they always get the short end of the stick. When do we ever fight again for what we want? When do we truly go after something, putting all our energy and focus on one goal? When do we leave it all on the line? How is this related...I am not sure.
But last night I saw one of the most epic games ever. The teams were put to the teast. One team is a previous league champion and is only one win left for the final champiopnship round. The other is a set of emotional and inconsistent players that historically have 0% shot at making it threw this round.

So here we are. The Orlando magic are playin ghard. Celtics are playing, but at most just "hard." But Orlando is getting at it. It began defensibvly, when Dwight Howard, AKA Superman, was being the big man on campus, swatting shotts and boarding others. He had a large precense (beyond his 7'1" fram, huge deltoids, and tiny head). That lead to fast breaks and big buckets, down in the paint and a dozen or so from down town. They went at it, not fearing loss, but only fearing the deterioration of their pride. They were after all TOP in the East this year in their record. no one won more than them, and they couldnt afford their conscious and self confidence in getting swept by a relativly inferior team. This translated in hustle, hard play, and physical yet intellegent plays.

The Celtics, they came in wanting to win, but that was it, just "wanting to win." They started making shots and putting up some good floaters that went their way, but then they started to fall apart. Perkins, 1 technical foul.

The next victom: Daniels. The man with the crazy mop hair comes in, goes baseline to find the twin giants awaiting him. He pivots only to find a crushing blow to the head by nothing more than a body shot. He too is gone. Concussion.

But Boston somehow found the very needede effort to begin a comeback. Even 15 behind would not deminish their efforts. They began with hack a Howard, which should be more appropriatly called Smight-the-Dwight as my brother Christopher calls it. Howard was able to make 1of2 for the most part. Sure Boston hit a few threes but so did Orlando. So that plan didnt work. So they just went hard with threes, using the Detroit Champion Rasheed Wallace to make a three evrey time he touched the ball. But then HE TOO was smarred by the Boston Plauge and had back spazms.
Boston finished the game limp, sour, and questioning if they had left what it would take to get that one win. A few games ago another win looked automatic. Now they are wondering if it is even possible. Three of their bigs injured, moral moralized, and a coach scrathcing his head on what to do. Will Allen answer the call? Vet Celtic Pierce? What about "the kid" KG? We'll see. You and me. Oh boy. This is a battle. Wha tth eplayoffs used to be about with the lakers and celtics and the bulls and the bad boys pistons. This is what we want to see, the kicks of the 90s and the ...whatever. I fogot what team to put here. But you get the epic proportions we are talking about. Forget LeBron...THIS should be the story of teh summer...especially considerng how epic the series is in the west...

You know what is embarassing? If the celtics loose this series, this will be the second Boston team to loose when ahead 3-0, where in hocky it has only happened once and basketball never...in the same year.
But I still think it will be Boston-LA in the Finals

NBA Conference Finals
NBA Playoffs
Alright, so everyone looks forward to the NBA Playoffs. its a great time of the year, when the best basketball players put on their socks and shoes and actually attempt to give a little effort, to break a little sweat, maybe even push a guy. Whatever. The time is here and we are ripe in the series. I just wanna give some note on the remaining teams.
So Lets start with Orlando. They have a good guard, Nelson. They have superman on their team, Howard. They have been plaiying easy Eastern teams all the way up. They are 4-0 in the last two seeries...against Charlotte and Atlanta...ok, no body cares. They finally lost to Boston, a legitamint team. Alright. Go Figures. Dont get me wrong, Orlando is good, they are a good team and made it to the Finals last year where they got smoked by Kobe....but still, whatever. I will be surprised if they make it competative agains the more in depth and more talented and more veteran Boston Celtics squad. They do Have Vince Carter tho, and he's the man. Enough said.
Boston. They are good. They score everywhere. Rhondo. Garnett. Even perkins. Whos that mad man from deep? Ray Allen. Who is his twin that is actually finishing at the rack? Uh, thats Ray Allen Too. Who is the sweat shot? Paul Peirce. Heck, tehy even have Rasheed Wallace making threes and talkin trash! Aight...so they are playing well, adn more importantly, they are playing smart. They know when to drive in bc the lane is open and they know how to take advantages when everyone crashes and hit the big trey. I see them going to the finals. Legit
The Suns. Oh boy...I have enjoyed the suns tremendosly. The Suns took care of portland in the first round. Eh, whatever, I didnt even watch it. What everyone here in South Texas was waiting for was the southern Rivalry between the Spurs and the Suns. The two have gone head to head almost every year the past 6 years. Holy cow were we in for a surprise. WHo would have ever thought a sweep? I mean, I watched all game 3 AND 4 anticipating the spurs to come back and win AT THEIR HOME. But they didnt! They trie dand triwed and some how Pheonix found a way to stay on top and get these little easy buckets that made all the difference to seal the deal. Now Parker can cry to his desperate wife, ginobili can work on his bald spot, Duncan can get face muscle surgury so he can finally smile, and Hill can figure out he is good, but why play for the spurs. Alright. Back tot he suns. They were dominant. You know who has shown , or has shined so far?
The reason they are winning is bcause Stodomire is still There. He makes Steve Nash look like the Golden Boy. If he left, all would be over.
However, The cameras are always on Steve Kerr. Let me say something, ladiexs and gentlemen, never listen to the medial when they highlight a former player whos was a superstar in his own right and claim that he is the reason for the success of the team. lets get this strait. RAIRLY, EVVER is a former star or semi star player any good at executive desitions. let players play and decisiton makers make decistions. That is what their specialty is, let them do it. Alright. I feel like Kerr is getting all this media attetntion bc Basketball is trying to find SOMEONE who fits the bill as a great past player that can actually make good decitions, unlike Bird, unlike West, unlike Isaih Thomas, and even, yes, even Dumars. Wayne Gretzky, known as the greatest hockey player of all time was a terrible coach. With Kerr, he media Is like "oh, look at him. how cute. he was so good with jordan and with the spurs. And now he has created this team, a team that has a chance for a title, one that they have been waiting for for the last few years." Oh, como'n. I liek steve Kerr, I really do. Have been a fan for a long time...but as a player. Remember him as a news broadcaster? he was terrible! Spurs down by 8. "Oh, this game is going great! This is a Spurs type of game! This is exactly where they want to be at! They have all the leverage and all the control!..." Enough said. The man was not very good. Now he got promoted to be GM for the Suns...and he does nothing...except not trade one of their players...oh, and get grant hill who is ANCIENT. Alright. Now the suns sweep the spurs, and meet with NBA Champions, the Lakers, and Mr Kerr gets all the credit. makes so much sence. Letws move on
The Lakers. The Lakas. Jobe. kobe Steak. Kobe in your face discrace. Kobe, so much better than Lebron. kobe, the King of it all. Kobe. Kobe. Mr Bryant. Yes, Jobe. Hwe is bac, and he is hot. lets get something strrait...who else was dissapointed in the Cavaleris? Now, sorry for swithcing topics...and also sorry for blate=antly mispelling the caveleris...but frankly I dont care. And I dont know how to spell.
Everyone was ALSo hyping that Lebron turned immortal..."Lebron has this look on his face like I have never seen before, some kind of radical determination." "His teammates have sencedd that Lebron's focus has just jumped a few notches." @Lebron knows what his goal is and promises Clevvelenad a great show." He plays hard. he looks different. He actually looks like he cares...for about nine games. They won in thei first round. Dominated. All he has to do is slash every time. And then the lat 2 games...he was looking around at the ceiling adn chewing his freakin fingur enails like he has no car ein the world...what the heck? Where did that bizare turnaround? Why show complete disregard for the anticipation that has been growing for the last few yearas!
Everyone wanted to see Kobe and Lebron in the finals...the classic rivalry that has been there with Bird and Magic, Chamberlin and Russel, among countless others. People want tos ee this. its liek the Manny Pacquiao? Floyd Mayweather Jr Fight...people wan tot see it. people want to pay big for it. And everyone knows this match up will define both of them...just like Ali and Frazier...it will define them. And Lebron? "oh, let me think about it for a second, while I chew my nails...wait, is that a ballon stuck up on the ceiling? I hope it dousnt pop. That banner is in the way, damn it, I cant see it anymore. Who put that banner in the first place...wistle, opps, gotta go, Ill answer that during my free throw. Watch this ownage. Wopps." Alrihght. Embarassment. many thought he didnt car.e Many thought he already wanted to leave shaq and the cavs. Maybe he had gotten a phone that night...for some ps3 or something. no body knows. Everybody Cares. If he leaves, we will all be the "Witness" of grand failier. Who cares if he gets 6 rings like Jordan, bc if they aint in Cleveland, then he didnt make the program from nothing to glory like Jordan did in Chicago. Just sayin. Dissapointed. I love to watch this boy when he performs, but he still acts like a little kid. Maybe after all, thats all we should expect.
Now, back to the man of the court. Kobe. He is dominating. he is rediculius.. He brings his team. in. he scores at will. he makes maraculous shots that can only be found in showtime LA. He is -- the man. Check out this vid:
So Kobe is good. We know that. He ios a player now, unlike his earlier, selfish play. He is a well-rounded legend. But he also has a cast of starts to bring him in odem, bynum, Gosal the man from spain who is a legend in his own right, and even the ancient and shinny head Derick Fisher hwo knows his place and can still shoot the rock. The team is so good and they have a great coach, who was not really that good of a player, but found his stint as a coach. Ahhuuuu...anyhow. They are good. They should win this series. Heck, they could beat the celtics for the championship, giving revenge for their defeate two years ago.
Who do i think will win the whole thing? Lakers. Close second would be Celtics, they are good enough to win. Who do I wan tto win? The Suns, for sure. I would love for Steve Nash to win the hwole thing. Thing is, this team almost fell appart midseason. If Stoudamire whould have left they would not be in the conference championships. I feel this is the best chance for any of those players to get a peice of the glory. And now that they finally beat San Antonio...well, destiny calls.
Who are your pics? Comments? Let DP know! Comment today!

Mother´s Day and Playoffs!
I forgot to mention about Mother´s Day in the last post. Mother´s day here was wonderful, and that is attributed to the fact of having a wonderful mother to celebrate. She is strong and wise and prayerful. She is wonderful and full encompasses everything that one needs in a mother. We are truely blessed to have her, and ever Pepper our dog will attest. Thanks, Má, for all you do.
Now the Playoffs. Its playoff time, and now Conference Finals time and its getting pretty intesnce. I loved the Rockets/Lakers matchups and I wished the Rockets would have made it even thought the Lakers were the obviously the better team against the T-Mac and Yaoless Rockets. But it doesnt mean they didnt put up a fight, which was awesome.
Then there was the NBA Conference finals, with Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers on one side int he West and the Orlando Magic against the Cleveland Cavelears in the East. Kobe vs. Carmelo and Howard vs. LeBron. Of course the Nuggets have been taking off. Ever since Denver took Chauncey Billups from Detroit, Detroit has been doing awefull and Denver has been doing awesome. How awesome? Well, Detroit has made the Conference Finals for the last 6 years. Denver hasnt made it in the millenium. Guess who made it this time? Denver and Chauncy made it and Detroit the Chauncyless didnt. Yea, its that important.

Well, I was really hoping that Orland and Denver would move on. Thus far its been pretty brutal. I think Orlando will take off into the NBA Finals. LeBron is doing really well but unfortunately for him the rest of his team is not. I feel like they dont deserve to make it to the finals no matter how good their all-star is playing. ON the other hand we see Denver and Los Angeles. Kobe has been doing really well and I have really enjoyed seeing his gam mature the past 3 years. He is so much better now than he has ever been. And I really glad he has become a full-eoncompassing player. But you know what? I rather have the newly stocked Denver with Carmelo, Chauncy, K-Mart, and Birdman make it to the Finals than Odam and Brown. Its just me.

But hey, dont forget about the NHL, baby! Its time! And Detroit, the playoff team is doing well! They have been playing against Aneheim who beat the #1 seed to play Detroit. They have played valiantly, but Gooden and Divak and Zetterber look like they will outmtch them and play for the Stanly Cup again! Only time will Tell!

Well, I will keep you guys posted on the playoffs and more stuff from the summer!

End of school maham
Well Fokes....I was so busy these past 2 weeks that I didnt even have time to stop by and say hi! It was terrible! Work coming out of my nostrils and all other bodily openings! Its wasnt even funny! But alo, I am here now. And so we begin

School was nuts. My Movement Science 110 final was pretty good. Hard, but I got a B. Overall in the class I got a B. Thats great at Michigan. I studied a lot for my econ101 final. Of course I should have studied more, but I picked up some extra shifts on friday and saterday...I wont tell you how much I worked those days, but I will tell you that they were a lot. So of course when those days were gone, I killed my butt studying for econ101 all sunday, monday and tuesday. I worked and worked, and it seemed I was getting the concept down...and I really was, really, but then that blasted last exam came around tuesday night and the rest was history. It was so hard. I didnt know what was going on. It was definitely harder than the last exams covering the same material. There were 33 questions. 10 were true/false, and the rest were multiple choice. I had to guess on 6 of them, completely guess b/c I didnt know what the heck was going on. They would show you a graph of the marginal cost tell you the average total cost was at minimum, and expect you to advise the monopoly whether they should increase or decrease output, increase or decrease price, and that was if you said stay open in the first place! Baaa! So essentially I guessed 6/23, thats like freakin 25%! It was terrible! I wanted to kill someone! But I was too tired and brain dead to do so! I turned in my exam to my GSI and told her it was butt hard. She said it was surprisingly hard for her too...which tells you something....
After the exam that tuesday night I went strait to the St Mary end of year dance thingy. It rocked as usual. I went to the Christmas one and had a blast, and this one was swell as well (thats a rimmer!). At first I was so frustrated about the exam, so my friend Devon took me up stairs and we wrestled to get the frustration out. I beat him real fast, but it did a great job of getting that frustration out. I was going crazy in the dance again. My dancing skills have improved leaps and bounce since last year, no joke, really, like I can actually dance kinda now. You have to believe me (Arce and Casey). I have been working diligently to get some some, natural moves down, and I am at the level were I can just hit the floor and not worry about how undanceful I am any more. Good stuff
Weds they had a barbecue at my dorm, and when they do something like that at Bursley on North Campus, its a big deal, cause we have over 1000 students living there. So in stead of getting there when everyone else would, I went to lift and came back at the end, and there was still a huge line. But I played some football and stuff...you just had to stay out there cause the weather was so good! Finally Michigan turned sunny! Finally Ann Arbor came to its amazing spring self! I mean, sure the leaves were not out yet, but hey, the temperature was a perfect 72 degrees, with the sun out not too bright, with a smooth breeze, and I could go on and on, cause it was perfect. So I spent a little too much time with my friends, but it was worth it.
(Me and Marc, my buddy from Cameroon that lived right next to my room)
So I did finish classes and my last final on tuesday, the 15th of April. But I had 2 papers due at noon on friday. I also had to pack all my storage boxes and my boxes shipping back home for the 3-5 pick up on friday. So I was flying, trying to get through this paper as fast and as good as I could. I had the great idea of playing tennis with on of my buds there, Eugene, and we played out in the sun from 11:30 to 2pm. I lost the first set 6-2, it was pathetic. But I lead in the second match starting 2-0. We tied 2-2, then I lead 4-2, then we tied 6-6. We fought back and forth and then I finally lost 9-7. It was crap. SO close! It was my first game in ages. But the sun killed me as I always does, and Im not just talking about the sun burn. I got a massive head ache. It was terrible. I wanted to do nothing but sit around the rest of the day. But I had to work. And then I had to write my papers. I ended up taking an hour and 1/2 nap b/c everything felt so weak. Then I wrote some more and more until I finished at 2:30 am. Then Eugine came back to taunt me cause he beat me and b/c I looked so tired and weak and he only needs 3 hrs of nap time a day. And with that I began to clean! And Pack! and Clean! And then I died at 5:30. I got up at 7, packed a little more, then took a 1/2 hr nap, packed packed packed, and then I left at 10:30 to go to my meeting. I dropped of my 2 papers and went to my meeting at cottage inn with the St Mary NCSA (Newman Church Student Association). Then I went back, packed like a freak, cleaned and was done by 3:45, just like I needed to. I had 3 boxes for shipping, 2 of storage, 1 plastic container of storage, and a cleaned refrigerator for storage. I had way too much crap with me. After that, I went to drop off some stuff, picked up my suitcases from a friends house, and went to the Briarwood mall with Annika before she leaves forever back in Germany. I was lucky enough to borrow a friend of mine's car. Matt is awesome- just for the record. He wants to start his own gaming developing firm, so all you should buy the games he makes, cause he is a great guy. I will remind you guys in the future, so dont worry about it too much now. So I did all my errands, got back and packed my bags, or tried to squeeze everything that was left in those bags, and then died again. I was kinda sick cause of the sun/lack of sleep, so that night was not pleasant. But considering it was more than the last few days combined, it was nice. I was sleeping on a bare matrice cause everything was already shipped. I stole Pete's blanket, my roommate (no, pete is my roommate, not the blanket silly!) and that helped a little. I did wake up a few time drenched in sweat. I was sleeping in the same clothes I wore all day cause thats all I had. I got up that morning, tried to figure out what to do to sign out, and finally left with Miriam Torrez, my awesome Godmother who took me to the airport. This was the first time American Airlines has ever been good to me. I actually got to Corpus on Time and with all my luggage! A miracle indeed!
W3ll, being back in the hot, humid Coprus was strange, but kinda nice. My dad and two younger bros, Christopher (AKA Skunk...dont ask) and Michael (Aka Sumo/Mega Wario) were jumping up and down to greet me. Michael even had a shirt that said "MR. HAPPY" and had a smiley face on it, haha. We went back home to see my mom and Carlos (AKA HotDog), oh, and the dog (Pepper, the only other female in the house). My dad finally decided to complete his Texaness and bough a grill. He loves grilled food, he just doesnt like the smell afterwards on his clothes and hair (Weak Sauce!), but he finally got one. So we grilled and ate outside by the pool and fountain and chatted the night away. Then of course we watched basketball together. Thats kinda my imprint on the family. I love to watch NBA, especially the playoffs, and since the playoffs began this saterday, we watched some of the first few games to come. Those darn spurs! GRRRR! I give Tim Duncan credit, but looser Manu Ginobli had to make the game winner to lead the Spurs over the Suns by 2 points in double overtime. And then the rockets just flopped. It was ugli. We will see what happens in the future.

Ok guys, I think I have spoken long enough. I had a lot to fill you in. Upcoming is my first week in Texas, including my new job with the Corpus Christi Hooks, so we will see how that goes. Also, more playoff action ahead, and who knows what else! Adios! -DP
